Even at 24, people mistake her for being much younger, which Penelope hates. With regards to Wizarding apparel, Penelope is conservative and favors pastel colors like mint green, pale blue and violet. When leaving the house in Muggle clothes, she enjoys the same colors, but likes knee length skirts, kitten heels and blouses. She owns a few funky accessories, like earrings and necklaces, mostly gifts from her free-spirited younger sister. Penelope also enjoys a comfy jumper and a perfectly worn in pair of denims.

Backstory/History - aka, where they have been between DH and Ascendant, and beyond:
Penelope graduated Hogwarts in 1994 and immediately got a job as afile clerk in the Portkey Office. She was originally excited to be working at the Ministry, not only because it seemed like a prestigious organization to work for, but because Percy was working there as well.
But over that first year, as Percy became more and more invested in his job, he had less and less time to spend with his girlfriend. Regardless of his reasons, Penelope felt herself growing farther from him and eventually broke off the relationship.

War in the Wizarding World was becoming a great reality in 1996, when Madeline graduated from Hogwarts and the two sisters moved away from home and rented a flat together. Rumors of Voldemort's return were proven true, but Penelope had the utmost faith that the Ministry would find a way to resolve the problem and keep the citizens safe. It was not until late 1997, when Thicknesse took over the ministry and began implementing policies to cleanse the Ministry of Muggleborns, which Penelope's life changed forever.
First, she had been fired from her job at the Ministry and had her wand taken away and destroyed. This was followed by the criminalization of the Muggleborns which forced Penelope and her sister to abandon their flat after a raid. The two were on the run for
several weeks until Penelope was eventually caught and imprisoned in Azkaban.

How the war affected them:
During her several months in Azkaban, Penelope experience physical and emotional turmoil like nothing she had ever dealt with in her life. Visits from Dementors sapped her mind of energy and visits from human guards left her body violated. Fortunately, after the death of Voldemort, Azkaban was forced to release its Muggleborn prisoners and Penelope was set free.

Penelope's life was never the same after the war. Her first action wasto find her sister, who had managed to avoid imprisonment. Penelope and Madeline slowly began to rebuild their lives together and finding a new flat. Penelope emotionally retreated within herself and for months she seemed distracted and lifeless, the energy she used to have had faded away. Madeline, on the other hand, was never in the flat and most nights stayed out very late without any explanation. Finally, Penelope was forced to address the issue with her sister and Madeline confessed that she was a member of an anti-pureblood terrorist group
named Broadsword which she had been introduced to by her boyfriend.
